Map Reset when 1 country takes the last TT/FT Airbase
« on: September 01, 2012, 10:13:14 PM »
Today marks the 2nd time in a row Ozkansas has had TankTown/FighterTown hoarded by one particular country. Now the MA numbers will suffer for it all week, as players log out of boredom.
Solution? Auto map reset with no winner when 1 country takes the final airbase on TT map.   No TT directly affects LWMA numbers, which ultimately leads to less new subscriptions.
I dont know about the rest of the community, but I have much more fun when numbers are up.

The Kanonenvogel had 6 rounds per pod, this is not even close to being open for debate.

Don't know why TT bases can't be uncapturable. Would solve pretty much everything.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

if TT bases weren't capturable, nobody would go there.

most tankers just want to spawn camp. for some reason tt on trinity doesn't see action.

i gave up long ago.

tanking done well is ambush/spawn camp.  like jumping a set of afk bostons with a 262.

-1. This would make the lemmings to form an uber horde over the TT, knowing their mentality. Or, in a better case, just a giant furball, but there used to come a hi alt buff raid to shut down the airfield...
I would rather make the TT airfields uncapturable.

All I saw were planes over tank town.

I think that's the issue.

Erhmm.. If all they do is spawn camp, then what's the difference if you make it uncapturable?  :headscratch: Spawn is still the same, and they can camp all they want. And the reason Trinity's TT is empty because "numbers breed numbers". No one goes there because no one is there to begin with. On Okanzas and ndisle, almost the moment the map resets, people jump into TT. Trinity's TT used to be popular, after some changes, no one went there. When the changes were reverted, the reputation stuck and it stayed empty.

Taking TT is the same mentality that todays players bring to the game. The shortest, quickest route to the end game, win the war. Rolling TT bases is easier than flying NOE for a sector and flattening a base and hoping your goon survived the trip. As long as you don't have some bozo hitting the barracks (hint for slowing your own team down, take out troops at the next enemy base so they don't have them when they capture  :devil ) you can just roll right along.

If they don't make them uncapturable, at least make them so they don't count towards the base count for the WIN.

Why can't a few people defend those TT/FT bases? Try it sometimes it works.

I logged in yesterday and Rooks were flying a steady stream over to Bish/Knit fields - neither were actively defending, naturally few bad apples took the bases.

I switched to bish later in the evening, they had the entire country attacking one airfield, while rest were undefended or spotted on the map. If someone wanted to keep TT he should of defended.

Actually makes sense.  It is what I was doing most of my time online yesterday afternoon and evening.  No need to change the capture settings, just get up and fight them red guys!

That's why I switched to bish since they only had one base left and nobody was defending it - I climbed out few times had a few good fights but eventually nobody bothered to defend so bish lost their TT base.
I asked for help, but ultimately since a HORDE didn't up nobody bothered to defend, go figure.

Ill be going knights in a little bit to help defend that tank town base, pretty sure knits will be more interested in keeping it :D

Butcher, its much easyer to get a group together with "lets roll that base to be the kings of the TT" than with "there are 2637852625 bad guys there, come, wing a fighter with me".
There are exceptions though.

Because no one is on while they're rolling the bases or the people who do want to kill them aren't on.
