yes it's fake, only 2 speakers in the G35.

I have it set to Mono most of time, because I put only 1 ear in it, leave the other ear uncovered in case something happens or the girlfriend talks to me ^^

If you haven't tried active noise cancellation before give it a try at some shop - it's amazing. Basically any humming fans etc. disappear like magic when you put the headphones on. I tried it first time (Bose quietcomfort 3) in a busy airport in Munich and it was a real surprise. Like stepping into an empty room and closing a heavy door behind you.

I have a Bose active noise cancellation headset I use on my weekday train commute - it's like my own personal cone of silence.

?? USB to Jack 3.5mm converter is called a sound card in my book!

EDIT: I see now, you want to plug the USB headset into the ipod. That won't happen, this headset needs a computer to work.

Aw, that sucks. And it's nice to have noise cancellation but I don't really need and I doubt my budget will allow it. I play in a relatively quiet place, although the the squaddies love the daily ice cream truck every time it drives by my house while on vent.  :lol

The Asus model is around 100 bucks vs 390+ for Bose.

Download the logitec gaming software 8.30.

It has more settings than comes with CD. (Equalizer etc) :)

Wikipedia has a article about G35, discussing speakers etc

I know it is out of the price range and the feature set since the mic doesn't come off but I love my PC360 from Sennheiser. You might wan to take a look at a few of the Sennheiser sets without mics to see what they do and how they rate. I haven't had bad luck out of Sennheiser in about 10 years now and the PC150's that I bought still work great for my son.

It has two speakers :)

That article says having lots of speakers is not very good if they are all crammed next to your ear :old:

I had the g35 headset and for what its worth, it was a good headset. The only drawback was the connection for the ear cup broke within a year and if you look it up you will see I wasn't the only person this happened to. The cord was super long, almost too long, 10 ft.

You should look at the reviews on different websites and go from there. I am currently using a http://us.store.creative.com/Creative-Sound-Blaster-Tactic3D-Sigma-Gaming/M/B0041OMWNY.htm tied in with my sound blaster sound card. The good thing is, its dual setting aka USB or 3.5 mm. If you go with the G35 you won't be unhappy but I preferred using the 3.5 mm jacks.
