So I've been reading about this Landing Ship Tank or LST, and I think it would be a very cool addition to the game  :x It'd basically be a mobile gv spawn that we could have a lot use for on some of the larger island maps. It'd also be a very powerful asset. Later LST models even came with a small deck for a spotter plane! Finally put some more use to that storch!  :airplane: I'm not expert but it shouldn't be too hard to add into the game; just design it and replace it with a cv fleet. It'd be cool if it could actually beach like in the pictures though. Anyways, I'm not sure if the picture I added will work so I'm adding a link to page on wikipedia so you guys can read more about the LST. ENJOY!

Being a US Marine and having been on LSTs before, it would be good to add it to a fleet and when that fleet gets within a certain distance, you can launch those types of tanks.  Not German armor, but the US type tanks only. 

1 - It makes you, as a defender, motivated to destroy the LSTs ASAP (kind of like we do with a cruiser)
2 - Brings the currently used tactics in game a bit more realistic and adds to the thought that you must kill a base's ord and SBs first
3 - By using fleet distance to shore, if the fleet isn't set up properly off shore and in front of SBs, then the LSTs don't land
**I think there are more benefits not coming to mind, but this would add a new and reasonable dimension to the game.

+1 for doing something in this area of the game..

My 2c, I think LSD's added to the fleet.. (Well Deck)..
And LCT's for the landing op.. Hold 6 tanks, and the
tanks can fire while approaching to land..

LST is a big ole ship.. And it would be much more fun
to let the tankers get in the fight from the landing craft!

Think about the massive gv fights that would come from landing an LST on a base with a VH up! :O I'm not much of a gv guy but I feel like these LST's would add a whole new dimension to the game with new tactics too!  :x

They would get raped by the GVs sitting on the shore until they reached land. And to prevent that, the VHS will be shut down like always. Fun concept on paper, doubt it's gonna work like so though.

  the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

Ya see, the thing about LST's, they didn't make beach assaults..
They came in after the enemy had been pushed off the beach..
Heavy Vehicles, where below deck, unable to get in the fight!

For the game purpose, these choices seem more likely..
 
LCM, (Landing Craft Medium) holds a single Sherman, that cannot
fire its gun because of the wooden bottom.. No way to shoot back!

LCT, (Landing Craft Tank) various models held between 4 and 12
Tanks/Vehicles in the open, and the Vehicles Could fire their weapons
while aboard.. Had 2 single 20 Oerlikons for AA, along with the massed
machineguns of the vehicles (M16 eh?).. Also would be a nice battery of
Sherman guns vs the Tanks defending on Shore.. With the Proper mix
of Vehicles, it would be a potent gunboat.. Steel but unarmored, big enough
to take some punishment before sinking, make for a fairly even fight!

This Idea isn't new, been hammered alot, by many people!
Most people want "Something" to put tanks over the beach..
And dedicated Invasion fleets to get the CV away from the shoreline..

Shouldn't that be up to us to prep the base before making an assault.

In some maps, there are Landing Ships. I believe the Okinawa map has some
