More ground targets
« on: September 18, 2012, 09:27:05 PM »
Temporary Airfields - players cannot take off from it but can land on it. Single airstrip, single hangar.

Parked planes - on all airfields, destroying them slightly increases the perks required for a perk plane.

Parked vehicles - on all vehicle bases, same as above.

Rail yards/ train depot - destroying them further increases resupply time.

Radar stations - smaller radius than a radar at a base (for gameplay purpose, I know it doesn't make sense), scattered across the map, tied to the nearest base.

Villages/towns - basically the same as the ones next to a field, except it is independent. Capturing it does not affect anything except providing a small ack zone. Scattered across the map. Buildings will offer less perk points but also requires less ordnance to kill.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

I would simply settle for this to be a more integral part of the game mechanics.

I think a scaled damage model on OBJ such as hangers would be the way to go, imo.  Currently, there is no incentive to do partial damage, it is either all or none.  The only exception is the damage to fuel tanks: once #3 is destroyed there are no DT available and with #4 being destroyed there is a max of %75 fuel.

Why not have a similar version with hangers?  When 1 FH is down, restrict aircraft of less than 10 from upping.  With 2 FH down restrict aircraft of less than 20, and with all FH down then the obvious occurs.  That is just an example.  Same thing with ordnance bunkers.  With 1 down = no 1k or heavier bombs, etc.  I'm sure something can be worked out with barracks as well.

IMO, there are plenty of OBJ already in game to destroy there just needs to be an incentive to do it.

I love the idea of the rail yards, They can be randomly placed on each side (large maps may have 4-5 where small maps each country gets 1-2). If you knock the railyards under 20% it slows the convoys to resupply the bases.

Other targets of opportunity:
V-1 launch sites - although they will NOT shoot rockets, they are simply a static target worth bombing for perks

Different Factories:
Submarine Pens - kind of like HQ's they require a TON of bombs to knock the pens out, can be placed around water areas.

railyards effect could be to increase the time between train/convoy spawn times.

You can check my stats for bombers. I have none or next to none.  :)

9 Sorties in a bomber for Tour 152 as BackHand (none of which are mine, flown by the owner of the account that he let me borrow).
23 Sorties in a bomber for Tour 151 as BackHand (again, you can ask the owner of the account whether or not I flew bombers :), I'll PM you).
0 sorties in a bomber for Tour 150 as TitanSTD (the last tour before I had to shut down my account "TitanSTD")
3 sorties in a bomber for Tour 149 as TitanSTD

So if you call me a milk runner, you're calling out the wrong guy.   ;) Better troll next time.

Perhaps the owner lend me money over a prepaid card and I have all the rights to my account?  :)

The troll is weak with this one.

Oh, and you'll be glad to know the I no longer use BackHand so...moot point, if there was a point at all in the first place Mr. Troll.  ;)

:airplane: I asked for most of these items about a year ago...never even got a response from Hi Tech...In over 60 years of flying, never saw a airport which did not have parked aircraft somewhere on the field. Great idea on the railroad and GV's on V bases.
Blue Skies and wind at my back and wish that for all!!!

Semp, I really don't see whats got your panties in a bunch. Lately, you seem to be a bit crabby.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

I'm actually working on all three of these things at the moment.  The only thing is the rail yards are purely for fun & blowing up.  They won't be a part of the overall strat system, just a target to go for.  They'll be used in the AvA where we can use them as objectives. The launch sites I am building are for V-2s though instead of V-1s.
