Not Optimum Mode
« on: September 23, 2012, 06:55:28 PM »
So I was playing last night and my cat hopped up on the desk n pressed something on the monitor. The screen went black with a sign that says Not Optimum Mode, Rocommended Mode 1920x1080 60Hz. I also couldn't back out, alt f4, or ctrl alt del. Froze up and had to do a cold hard shut down. I switched it to the recommended mode, which wasn't were I've had it at for the past 2 years, and its still freezing up when I open up aces high.

I would ask the cat, if he remembers which button he may have pressed.   :bolt:

j/k...
It sounds like 1920 x 1080 60Hz would be the optimum mode.  But if you've already changed that, then I don't know.
Somebody will be along shortly with a better answer.

Good luck.

So I have it set to 1920x1080 60Hz and I can now get into the log in point but it still gives me the
"Not Optimum Mode
Recommended Mode
1920x1080 60Hz
Analog"
Message which floats around the screen. I befriefly get to see the tower n map before the screen goes black and this message pops up.

1920x1080 is your monitors optimum mode/resolution. Start the game and when the first screen comes up click on "video settings" in there set the resolution to 1920x1080. You may want to note what it is set at when you first check. If your monitor was set at a lower resolution say 800x600 and the game was set that way too jumping up to the higher settings my be pushing your computer to hard and you might have to drop some of the settings in the game to get it stable, or you could set the monitor to what ever setting you find in the video settings in the game.

I've been having the same issue.

I was running 2 monitors but needed more desk space for work so I disconnected one of them.

Now my game crashes more often than not while logging in.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

Bong,

a couple of thing stand out in the dxdiag, you're running 1200 by 800 on the monitor and you have a generic plug and play driver.

You might want to get a proper driver for your monitor and set the ame and your desktop to same resolution.

Also your vidcard is abit dated, you might look at getting 1 of the latest generation cards.

Don't know if this helps or not Rob, nor do I know what type of GPU you have.  If you have an Nvidia based card, you may have a setting similar to this.
Right click on the desktop to access it, if it is Nvidia.
