Some of these ideas are old, some are new, some are modifications of old wishes but this wish is all about the ground game.
1. Introduce the Sherman DD (duplex drive). It would be useful on several maps in the MA to bring a real gun to areas otherwise inaccessible or at least tedious to reach. While the DD's performance during the D-Day landings was not good it was used successfully in other campaigns.
2. Introduce the Sherman flame thrower. Allow it to be used to destroy GV's and objects at close range but make it particularly effective against troops and buildings. Just hold down the firing trigger until something goes boom! It will look awfully cool too. Imagine the fighter who decides to take a head on run at you.
3. Introduce the Sherman mine sweeper. Allow SkD's, M3's and Jeeps to carry deployable mines as a selectable weapon. You have to stop to deploy and they last for 15 minutes. Make them visible to friendlies (who supposedly have been briefed on their positions) but not to enemies (or at least difficult to see). Make them able to destroy a light GV or track a tank if driven over. I could see heavy minefields being used between a spawn and a base in the clearings between the patches of trees. Make it so you have to still be in your vehicle to score a kill from a mine.
4. Introduce a true British tank. My vote is for the Crusader while also introducing the Crusader AA. The Brit's finally get a tank of their own and the Allies get something to compete with the Osti and Wirble.
5. Introduce a troop transport truck (defenseless) that's as fast as a jeep but can carry 10 troops.
6. Introduce the DUCK. A water crossing 10 troop carrier.
7. Allow GV's to dig in. Make it take a minute or two to throw up a berm around the GV just below barrel height. If you leave your dug in position and don't return within 5 minutes the berm goes away. Good for a ground fight but makes you easier to spot from the air in open terrain. Make the berms brown so you have to be selective against your terrain backdrop.
8. Allow camouflage netting on vehicles. Make it take a couple of minutes to deploy and to remove. Once deployed it takes on the color of the terrain from an overhead view with just the barrel of the main gun and the pintle sticking out. Also keep the commanders and hull gun views clear. Remove icons for a camouflaged vehicle from all planes but the Storch who's icon vis is reduced to that of other planes viewing non-camouflaged vehicles. From the ground you'll have to be careful not to throw up camouflage against a contrasting backdrop but in matched camo the outline of the tank, but not the detail, from the ground, should still be somewhat discernable.
In both of the above make it so you are unable to fire while deploying. If fired upon and you have to fire back or move you abort and have to start over. With the camo netting no movement should be allowed while deployed so taking it down leaves you vulnerable. Imagine hiding in the trees dug in, camouflaged or both.
9. Allow sandbagging of tanks to improve defensive armour, possibly at the cost of speed or time to set up.
10. Make bridges over the rivers and from the mainland to nearby islands that can be driven across, flown under and destroyed.
11. Bring back the zone strats. More stuff to blow up and more fights, both ground to ground and ground to air/air to ground.
12. Use every box on the clipbard spawn choices to allow for more than one spawn point in a general area whenever possible.
I think that's it for now. I'll expect to see these changes in two weeks.
