Mmm, Bacon!
« on: October 02, 2012, 01:01:37 AM »
Bandon, Oregon-  Oregon authorities know only two things for sure about the death of 70-year-old farmer Terry Vance Garner: He died Wednesday and his hogs ate most of him, according to news reports.

A relative found Garner's dentures and pieces of his body in the hog enclosure after Garner didn't return from feeding his 700-pound animals that morning on his farm in Riverton, near the coast, the Associated Press says.

The Coos County district attorney's office said today that one hog had either bitten or been aggressive with Garner in the past. District Attorney Paul Fraiser told The Register-Guard that Garner may have had a heart attack or other medical emergency, or perhaps knocked down by the hogs. But investigators aren't yet ruling out criminality by humans.

Last year, one of the large sows bit Terry Garner after he had accidentally stepped on one of the piglets.

“He said he was going to kill it, but when I asked him about it later, he said he had changed his mind,” Michael Garner said.

John Killefer, who heads the Animal and Rangeland Sciences Department at Oregon State University in Corvallis, called the incident involving Terry Garner both “very unfortunate” and highly unusual.

The local World says that a forensic pathologist examined Garner's body Saturday, and that a forensic anthropologist from the University of Oregon will also examine the remains.

This raises the paradox, Do humans taste as delicious to pigs as pigs do to humans?

Damn pigs have always been trouble makers on the farm! Always talking about revolution and how they don't need the farmer. The farm dogs are always the first to fall in-line with such propaganda. I would suspect the dogs played a part in this crime.

This has happened before.. My Pop used to tell a story about a guy he worked with
on a farm in New Hampshire, during the Great depression.. Pigs ate him.. Yes, they had new piglets!

They found his head, part of his belt with the buckle, and a boot, with his foot still in it..

What a way to go eh?

I'm guessing none of you were fans of Deadwood?

I worked on a pig farm when i was 14 :)

Bloke gave me a big bristled brush to use in the creatures when they tried to have me for lunch :rofl

You had to proper belt them to stop them having a bite  :)

Flippen big things as well :)

My cousin married a farmer chick from Normandy and at the wedding they strung up a pig, my Aunty fainted :rofl

Not a good way to go, death by pig :old:

I wonder if they will be able to sell the pigs afterwoods?

Would anyone have bacon and eggs from pig if they knew it had ate a farmer for tea?

I certainly wouldn't let all that bacon go to waste. I'd pass on the eggs though, never had pig eggs before and it sounds kinda sketchy.
