Also I had a bird attack me with  a head on in that flight. Working on a full HD upload version that shows the difference between what you can see on a computer screen and real life.

I spotted the bird at a little more the 1/2 mile out and could see individual feathers as he passed. In the film, reversing it to track him back, only dot can be seen about less the 1/4 mile.
