Up ho and die is a horrible way to make perks. You'll most likely average .2 perks per sortie.
The time spent making endless sorites could be better spent learning to fight.
2 This has happened to many people, hear it a lot on local.
One of my favorite flattop busters was the Ju-87. In nearly 6 years of playing Aces High, I think I was prevented from making my attack run in the Ju-87 grand total of 4 times due to puffy ack.
In the 190F8, I was never killed outright by auto puffy (although to be fair, it is more heavily armored, being a ground-attack plane and all).
Even in an A6M, I was getting lit up by puffy ack maybe one sortie in 10.
You're either incredibly unlucky, or are grossly exagerating the problem.
4 Most of the time i'm shot on egress or have been specifically targeted in 1 occasion by someone obviously well practiced at it. Give me one example of where it actually happened in RL or an actual vet who could give realistic probability of it even being possible in combat conditions. Vulching on tarmac, sure, improbable in the air at absolute best and certainly not repeatable.
Unless you're flying in a strait line at low altitude, being shot by the main gun will not be a problem on either ingress or egress.
How were you "specifically targeted"? I've made mirical kills at ludicous ranges before; killed a plane in the M8 at over 3k, just by firing away from the commander's possition. Damn thing fires almost as fast as an AA gun.
I've unintentionally killed planes passing through my line of fire in a long-range shoot out. I've also been unintentionally shot down in the same manner.
Keep in mind that far more sorties are made in AH, using far more dangerous (see: stupid) methods than in real life, which results in far more shot opportunities for the tanks. Also, GVers have had far longer and many more chances to hone their skills than real life tankers, in addition to having far more opportunities to fire at aircraft.
That, and if it hadn't happened in AH by now, I would be absolutely dumb-founded. Through sheer volume of fire, its bound to happen. Consider that in one tour of AH , odds are more rounds are fired at aircraft than have by all tanks of all armies since the tank was invented combined.
On that note, in 6 months, tanks in AH probably fire off more rounds than the entire
Panzer Korps during the entire extent of WWII.
