The Allied Ace was Drano of the 412th FNVG, He was representing: Colonel Charles MacDonald (USAAF) – MacDonald arrived in Dobodura, New Guinea in October, 1943 and scored 4 victories that month. He became an ace on November 9th 1943. While commanding the 475th FG in the Philippines he shot down 13 enemy aircraft from Nov 10th 1944 to January 1st 1945. MacDonald would score his final victory March 13th1945, bringing his total score to 27. Charles MacDonald passed away in March, 2003.
Drano failed to shoot down any enemy aircraft in his P-38J. He landed successfully at the end of the frame.
The Axis Ace was TxCoyote of the LCA He was representing: Lt Commander Ayao Shirane (IJN) – Shirane was a veteran of the carrier battles of Midway, the Eastern Solomons, and Santa Cruz. In July of 1944 he was given command of the 401st Sqaudron of the Yokosuka Air Group flying the new N1K Shinden (George). In October 1944 he took his squadron to Luzon where they saw immediate action. Shirane was shot down and killed by P-38s from the 433rd FS on November 24th 1944. He had 9 aerial victories.
While flying his N1K2-J TxCoyote shot down one F4U-1D flown by bonanza of G3-MF. TxCoyote was later shot down by Wiley of the VMF-222 Flying Deuces and captured by the Allies.

While reviewing the logs, the only CV that was sunk was C79 by the Allies. It was sunk AFTER the Cruiser from C79 was sunk. Therefore it will not count towards the score for the Allies.
The Allies really conquered the skies, in which they shot down more planes than Axis pilots! VF-17 really dominated and racked up nearly 1/3 of the Allied kills when it came across the G4M1s of the Claim Jumpers. Congrats to VF-17 for an outstanding performance with 43 kills and 40 assists while only losing 6 of 20 aircraft.
