If you watch the original video it changes to slow motion. I agree it might have been arranged or helped if it was in one of the big private game parks, however not in one of the national parks. Like this place...

Rich about the only place you can see big cats during the day is in the parks where they are not hunted. There are some other videos on the net as well. You just never know what you may see in some place like the Kruger.

Its possible to see a Leopard during the day in RSA but its rare. Ive never seen one during the day but I have at night while spotlighting Jackals. Im not even sure you can hunt leopard in RSA due to CITES. It may be possible to get a permit but if I go for Mr Spots it will be in Botswana or Zim. The Landowners wanted me to shoot cheetahs and Leopards in RSA but I refused to since I couldnt import the hides.
Typical Bambi Lover drama. They want to go to bed at night thinking they did something good for the cats by forcing thru legislation making it illegal for American hunters to import the hides. The end result is the African Hunting industry, which brings in far,far more revenue then the camera clickers, then begins to despise the cats cause they bring in no revenue and instead go wild on the hoofed animals visiting hunters pay big $$ to hunt. So the Landowners shoot the cats without mercy. A cheetah will kill one hoofed animal a day and eat a fist sized chunk of meat off its shoulder and then run like Hell before the other predators show. Imagine the hurt Leopards and cheetahs can put on a hoofed herd, most of all during birthing weeks. These hoofed animals are food and college money for the Landowners, PHs, trackers, the entire industry.
And the sad thing is? If the Walt Disney crowd/Govt. got its head out its rear, allowed hunters to import hides, then the cats would have a $ value and would be protected by Landowners and tribes and habitat assured for them. The future of the cats would then be assured. Their enemy isnt Hunting ; Its poaching and habitat destruction thats destroying them. As well as stupid Legislation and Govt. corruption. The modern sport hunter is a convservationalist first and a hunter second. Those $$ we spend IS the reason there is any wildlife left. I Love the RSA. Not only its people but they have conservation down to a science. Far more advanced then we are. Its a wonderful country to visit. My biggest thrill wasnt killing something, Ive seen enough animals go down. But the moment I'll never forget is walking right up to a Black Rhino while tracking a warthog. I actually have video of the event. My God to see a Black in the wild just left me speechless and left me proud to know the recovery of the Rhino has been financed by the $$ generated by the hunting industry and by private land ownership.
Sorry for the long post. I watched the video full length and did enjoy the slo-mo. Everyone should go to Africa once whether you hunt with gun or camera. I could easily go there for a month and shoot only film, Gods blessed me with enough animals for one lifetime. Thanks again for a nice piece of video. Boy I sure miss the Bushveldt and the night barbecues under the milky Way. <S>
