problems with joystick/rudders
« on: October 09, 2012, 08:42:26 PM »
I have a ch fighterstick and saitek rudders.  I am trying to trouble shoot a problem.  my controls seem to lock up specially when on a dive and i get the message that I am moving the controls to rapidly and I normally end up on a dive that i wont recover from as I cant move my stick or rudders.  anybody has any ideas on how to trouble shoot to see which one is spiking?  I have calibrated both but that doesnt help.

i should say that i get the message about moving rapidly even though i am not moving the controls at all.  the problem only seems to affect when i dive making a slight right turn.

Also, check for spiking.  I've had my y-axis spike at times, soon followed with the ' don't move your controls so rapidly'.  Adding a little dampening fixed it for me.

How old is the stick? I have seen wire chaffing lead to intermittent connections. A visual inspection may reveal that to be the problem. Only if you are comfortable taking the stick apart.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

If your sire that it happens when in a dive or you can make it happen, you can test it in the tower.

Open the controllers section in the game and select an axis with the scaling window open. Move your controls pretending that your going into a dive, or what ever sequence causes the spiking. Do it for each axis, brakes too. If you can do it regularly in the game you should be able to spot it in the window seeing your line jump.

Once you spot it, well then you have to decide whether to repair or replace.
