A few new graphics
« on: October 10, 2012, 11:02:05 PM »
I don't know if this is currently in place yet, if so please let me know, but compared to the newer game graphics the old texture of exploding bombs and splashes seems to be lacking the same appeal.

IMO there should be a graphics setting for a higher quality graphic to go with the enhanced ground graphics.  It would make some of the films look much better.

I know there was a post not to long ago where the smoke was being worked on and the flames too. Its kind of a work in progress i believe they are trying to work on updating some of the graphic elements in the game. Unfortunatley it takes time.

I suggested that we add smoke to the town to make it a little easier to see when it has been hit. Nothing to much to obscure your view but just to add effect. Maybe fire to the buildings would be better that would make it easy to see form up above.

Window and glass reflections?  New trains?  New truck convoys?   :aok

I think the HTC is doing just fine updating graphics.  If they spent $100,000 and hired a horde of programmers, etc, to come in and "improve" everything at once many of people would be wishing for "updated" graphics in 6 months.  Patience is virtue.

I'd like so see HTC update a few cockpits at a minimum, everything else is good to go at the moment.   :aok

Biggest hindrance imho, would be keeping their playerbase happy with a low system requirement. Not everybodys got a hardcore gaming rig. Not everybody here is a hardcore gamer.
For every improvement they do in the graphics department, theyd have to ensure it could be disabled and turned back to something simple should the player wish it to. That is ofc, in order to keep their minimum system requirements down and keep quite a few people happy.  :aok

The fact this game has been successful for as long as it has proves HTC is headed in a good direction. They may not be instantaniously punching out improvements, but when they do, they usually are very good ones.

Exactly! Those people crying for better graphics now would be the first ones crying that their laptops are running slow  :P

Exactly why I suggested that there be a way to disable it.  The computer I have now struggles with the current game graphics, which is why I am trading up.

What is the current file size of AH, about 500-600 MB?   Even Tiger Woods 2005 is over 2 GB.
Let's all just bite the bullet and make AH beautiful and functional.  It's time for  gaming enthusiasts, such as ourselves, to contribute somewhat to the cause.  God forbid we may have to save a few bucks for a PC upgrade, that's probably well over due anyways.

I'm sorry not everyone is rich as you are, I waited over 4 years to upgrade my laptop to a desktop and I was hoping to barely play Aces High on the Medicore settings and I lucked out.  Save a few bucks? I'm sorry mommy and daddy gave you enough money, but some of us had bills to pay.

Go back to world of warcraft.
