Humans Are Strange People.
« on: October 12, 2012, 08:12:47 PM »
As the title says, we're all strange. None of us truly act normal and I don't understand why. Man considers himself such a big screaming deal individually, and yet we murder our own, we steal from each other and we all (in one way or another) try to exert control over another. I don't understand it, and maybe I don't want to but if any of you have an answer for why we all have to obtain complete control over another, then i'm all ears.

the answer is that there is no answer.  just like in math some problems have no solutions.  but if you really want to have an answer perhaps you should ask a question that actually has a solution.

Math, numbers and in some cases, words are all made up. I really doubt that people don't have a solution - we're not made up things. I'm certain that there's an answer for everything because even with your example of some problems having no solutions, there's still an answer to that and that's the fact that there isn't a solution to the problem. So in the end, I kinda sorta somewhat asked a question that has a possible answer. You just gotta look at it differently.

among a group of  killers, killing would be consider normal.
among a group of non-killers, killing would be consider not normal.

so if you want to find out the answer to your question perhaps you need to figure out if you are normal according to your own rules.  once you find out then you have your answer.  it is just that simple.  we cant give you an answer as we dont really know if you are normal or not  according to our own rules.  and by that I mean a normal person would not ask the question that you asked.  to me an abnormal person who is trying to justify his own actions would ask the question that you did.

It's all about the sex-ing and the procreating.  All widespread human behavior can be traced to optimizing those two activities.  There will always be the occasional individual not interested in these, but they often remove themselves from the gene pool in spectacular ways.

Likewise, any society that denegrates these activities and emphasizes/encourages social patterns that do not enable or support these two activities is doomed to extinction.

Aggressive and dominating behavior is a survival trait in a group. The man who is the more brutal and aggressive dominates or kills off those who are not and take their women. The tribe which is most aggressive and brutal subjugates or kills off the tribes which are not and take their women. The first thing a male Lion will do after killing the old alpha pride leader is kill all the cubs and rape the females. It's good to be king...

Competition: it breeds excellence. Removing competition creates an excess of no longer excellent heritage. With an excess other problems arise ,for instance greed.

Greed is another survival trait. Those who horde the most food survive winter...

Well, first off.. we don't all have to obtain complete control over all others.  Just a few ( relatively ) do.. but they get all the headlines.

Secondly, Nobody is the same. We all have unique DNA, and the construct of such leads to a wide variety of social behaviors.  Be it greed, homosexuality, violence, illness, brilliance, or any practically infinite combinations.

The point is, the human being is a mind-wrenchingly complex and varied creature.  To expect it to conform to a strict set of behavioral patterns is silly.

Does that help?
