If you are talking to me: most of those shots were set up using the zoom feature in the film viewer. Basically, after pausing the film and adjusting the camera to the general shot I want, I hit the zoom key and use the [ and ] keys to zoom way into the plane in the foreground, then I use the up and down arrow keys to pull the camera back out to near its original spot before I used the [ and ] keys. This (for some reason) makes the planes in the background larger and helps them appear closer and better defined (higher resolution). Additionally, I save my screen shots as PNG documents instead of jpeg documents, this really seems to help keep the resolution of the planes in the background at a higher level; for example, the top screen shot I posted was accidentally saved as a jpeg, if you compare the resolution of the background planes in the first screen shot you can see a noticable difference to the resolution of the background planes in all the other screen shots I posted in here.
