I thought that nobody might be interested in this...
« on: November 01, 2012, 02:38:30 PM »
... but I'm going to post it anyways  :D

As I was one of the players who were loudly campaigning for a redesign of the whole strat system, I felt obliged to use this part of AH gameplay as much as possible. I did not want to join the ranks of those crying for a certain thing for years, and then losing interest / ignoring it when it finally arrived.
So here it is: My personal summary of the first two full months of the new strats system flying for the Knights:

In the upcoming tour 154 I will bomb for Bishops, but at an reduced pace  :old:

By the way, I really wished there was a  statistic of objects destroyed for each player on the webpage similar to the one about killed planes  :pray

:aok I agree that destroying an object is different than just damaging it, and should be tracked additionally.

The snail appears to be quite proficient in the B-29.

Wow, 8 to 10k is my recent bombing alt. Seems to work. Bomb target and get some kills while I'm at it.

Over the strats? Even on small maps in Me 163 range? You would be incredibly lucky then   :old:

The B29 is the 3rd most difficult bomber to intercept.  The first being the Ar234 and the second being the Mossi B Mk 16.  But the thing about the B29 is that it has the best defensive guns in AH, AND it can mover at 360 TAS+ once the ords are gone at 28k and higher altitudes.

So, case in point if you're going to head to the industrial complex in bombers other than the Ar234, Mossi B Mk 16, or B29, you had better be taking along some decent escort fighters.  The P47M/N models are second to none for that duty thanks to high alt performance, guns, and range.  The P51B/D are also a good contenders.

Hijack:
Does anyone else think the B-29's tail gun is (compared to the B-17, for instance) fragile?   :noid
The speed of the B-29 causes mostly direct 6 attacks and most of the times I was caught, resulted in the tail gun being shot out very quickly.
Never the rear belly turret though.  That gun always saved my bacon.
