For Historical-Fiction Readers
« on: November 14, 2012, 10:18:37 PM »
Hey there fellas and ladies. Just to let y'all know I'm a big reader. I just recently read The Hill by Leonard B. Scott, which is about the battle for hills 823 and 875 during the Vietnam War. This book is one the best and most saddest books I've ever read. I highly recommend this book to any historical hiction war lover like myself  :salute enjoy!

I think I read that a long time ago. He also wrote others about a group of LRRP guys that was loosely based on some of the MACvSOG teams.

I just started another Bernard Cornwell.

It is called 'The Last Kingdom' about the Vikings in early middle ages England.  Pretty good.

Have to check that out.  I like Harry Turtledove books myself.  Has interesting takes on alternate history fiction.

The Hill was a very good book. I read it when I was in high school and about to go into the Army for my first tour.

I always thought "Chickenhawk" was one of the best Vietnam War novels.
