New Russian Medium tank....
« on: November 18, 2012, 12:27:05 PM »
the T44 Russian medium I think should be added to the game it would be perked about the tiger1 or panther cost because of its enhanced armor over the T34-85 and T34-76 it uses the same gun as the T34-85 but has more armor and can do 33mph.  It was used in the last 3 days of the war on the Eastern Front in mass anyways it had seen other service earlier than that but that was with a special 100th which tested them on the Eastern front

Didn't see actual combat in the Eastern Front as far as I can find.

Maybe you mean the Far East, as in the fighting with the Kwantung Army.

Also, would be a big strech to perk it along with the Panther and Tiger I, considering that it used an 85mm gun. That would be like saying a Panther with the Russian's 85mm would be worthy of its current perk price.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

We have NO British tanks.  I would rather see us round out the GVs with some British armor than add another Russian tank that only saw limited service.

I know that I have posted that before as well this would be a quick add in because its essentialy a T34-85 with more armor and while there at it they can add the churchill and Cromwell and Comet

Only 3 T-44As saw any action on the Eastern Front when they were sent to be tested by the 100th Special Tank Company.  With the T-44A only seeing 3 days of action against the Japanese in the Far East, there are other vehicles that should be added before any additional Soviet tanks.

Russians only produced the T-34 as a medium tank, others were either prototypes or simply didn't see service like the T-34/85. You have either the Heavy Tanks (KV series and IS) or light tanks (Calvary) the BT-7. As for early war, the BT-7 was replaced by the T-34, however many were built and served on the front lines where its 45mm L/46 gun wasn't all that bad against Early war German tanks (Panzer 2s and Panzer 3s).

As for Aces high, I'd much rather see a few Soviet support guns added, Everything from the Su-76, Su-85, Su-100, Su-122, Su-152 were all major factors in the soviet army during WW2.

Given SP's like the Su-152 are based on previous designs like the KV series - it would mean we can get more tanks added quicker in game, rather then having entirely different designs.

Not everything you read on the internet is right, and wikipedia is a very stretch. Wikipedia is a good starting point for beginners to find quick information, however you have to do your own research and make adjustments on whats correct and whats not.

I haven't even opened the books, but what I know off hand is a few hundred T-44s were built in 1945, however far as combat is concerned wikipedia posts it saw combat in the last few days of the war - I don't believe this. First of all, it was issued to training regiments in late 1944, which means problems need to be addressed before it goes into combat, why would Russia decide to start fielding T-44s in April 1945 when the war is won? Secondly Russia had not enough tanks in reserve to switch over medium tanks. The T-34 was doing just fine, the T-44 was due to replace it, but simply not enough were built.

I don't believe the T-44 was ever in combat in the west, It might of been in use in the far east, far as combat is concerned there is very limited info on the Russian/Japanese front.

At least give us a Matilda!   jk   I dont GV.

The Matilda however was used in large proportional numbers in North Africa.  Panzers made short work of them though.
