bold......don't forget lincolns, and oldsmobiles. people often forget these cars ruled though. and they also think supercharging is new, when you could get a golden hawk with a paxton on it back in what? 57? then there was the front wheel drive cord in the 20's i think it was?

sometimes i wish i was around back then.

 also....very well said hajo.

Oldsmobile...the Rocket V8!  Mercs........I coulda slapped stallone for destroying the Merc he drove in a movie (name I can't remember) Bridgette Neilson was in it.
there was a song in the 50s entitled Hot Rod Lincoln,,,racing a Cadillac I believe.  Great song...great cars at that time also.  No cookie cutter cars.
Almost every year the design changed making identifying the brands much easier.  Now....I drive and say to myself.."what the hell is that?"

My first car was a Rover SD1, and I have been toying with the idea of one day to restore one. Get some mods done to fix the most common reliability problems, plus some modern creature comforts.

Perhaps something similar to these beauties: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1nlyC4Vq_M

That would be awesome. Problem is finding a good one with the steering wheel on the right side.

Cobras are nice but I prefer the lines of the BMW507!   If I could have my dream car it would be a 58 in German racing silver.

If I posted pix I show the car but if interested there's plenty of google images of the car, some real sweet ones too. :aok

   :salute

PS They put a V8 in before Carol did too.

The new Boss 302 Mustang is an awesome car.

..it's a damn shame Ford prices it up with the Corvette.
IMHO Ford should price that in the same ballpark as the Hemi Challenger..35k or so ..
..with the killer Shelby 40k or so ..instead of their pie-in-the-sky demands.

When I look for a hot rod price vs performance drives me ..and I cannot see payin more for less.

Probably just my current everyday driver. Hopefully I won't get far enough behind on maintenance to start calling it rebuilding.

Mine has half the cylinders, twice the doors, 1 cup holder and loves playing in the snow.

Oh no.  The Wife is not afraid of the gas pedal.  I am figuring using a stock late model LS engine from a Corvette to reduce the chances of her having to get too friendly with the local law enforcement crowd.

Although she has mentioned she would like to get it on the track and race me in the Cobra.

I should have never taught her how to rotate a car through a turn.  It will be my undoing.

The snow? Didn't you read your owners handbook? You're not supposed to get a Jaguar wet.
