Coolest Looking Instrument.
« on: November 25, 2012, 01:02:11 AM »
So lately iv'e been poking around on various instrument sales websites for giggles and came across this.

This here my good men and women is the Traben Phoenix 5 stringed bass.

That is most likely the coolest looking bass I have ever seen. Not even a Warwick Stage 2 Streamer looks this awesome. Although I wouldn't mind having a Stage 2 Streamer, I'd still pick the Traben over it. If any of you can find a better looking instrument, please post a picture here. I like looking at stuff I cant afford/might not have for a long time.

I'm sure you guys know this, but you don't buy an instrument because of the way it looks.....of course unless your just going to hang it on the walk to look at.

Pretty cool but it's still no keytar.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

I like the guitar that looks like shattered glass/mirror. What's the brand on those two?

Despite the all-knowing musical being I am, I still am ashamed to be around people who buy instruments based on their looks, that is just one of the stupidest things you could do. If it sounds like crap but looks like gold some people will (stupidly) buy the thing. However, the pic I put up was one of the best basses you could get a hold of. Those strings make a great sound and I would personally buy it given I had the extra 2.5 grand on me :lol

Unless you're in show business.

True but unless you're not going to be playing it at all there really is no reason to buy an instrument based on looks.

Well unless you are a collector & are buying as an investment.

Collectors and investors are probably the few exceptions to buying an instrument for looks. Other than that there shouldn't be a reason for it, unless you plan on picking up random chicks in the closest bar with it.

Stradivari's are always nice looking instruments, they sound as good as they look too. Sometimes even better.

No Washburn factory made.

The broken mirror is number 83 of 100 & it was the last of that production run to leave the factory.

The Millennium is in fact #1 of 100 & only 43 were made though of this model.
