I went to a Honda main dealer some years ago. I was looking to buy a ST 1100 abs. They refused a test ride and they missed out on a £11'000 sale.
I bought the same bike from another local dealer who did allow me a test ride. No one in their right mind would spend thousands of pounds on a new car without a test drive but because its a bike its assumed you will bend it.

The real scary thing, it's not even a test ride, that's his bike.

I was a roadracer.  I fell at 130 mph and for just a millisecond my finger was trapped between the handlebar and the pavement on impact.

Went through the glove, the flesh and the bone just like that.  Hurt like hell too!!  Stupid thing still hurts and it's been 6 years.  That was also my last race,

I was considering quitting anyway because I had turned 50 and figured I was pushing my luck.

Ouch, that's a good story to tell though. My Grandma had her 3rd finger bitten off by a horse, that is not such an awe inspiring story to have to tell.

Guess he regreted those saddle bags after that fall. They look stupid anyhow.

Relax. You didn't misspell anything; you hit the wrong key. That's called a "typo"... A FAR lesser offense. ;)

Used to ride a Harley with a suicide clutch and a jockey shift. Lots of fun.

Your friends name wasn't Charles, was it?
