Zoney No matter the thread, no matter the topic, no matter the poster, this game is full of haters. There are many topics or information or questions we would all love to post, but every thread in here gets trolled by those haters. Ask a question of score: you are a score potato, mention K/D you are a running wussy,  Best to just shut up and not partake in this community, they basically are not very nice.  The good peeps in this game are usually quietly working in the background, helping new players via Pms or vox etc. No point saying anything in the forum, somewhere somehow they will ridicule you.

I started many years ago in Fighter Ace, watched the haters destroy the community through the forums and through in game harassment.  Why would any noobie sign up for this game, they read ch200 chat, (which is  appalling full of misogyny, racism, homophobia and ad hominem attacks) they read the forums and just go no way am I setting myself up for that crap.  Even in the last two years the number of players online at any time has reduced.  When I started, 2 rooms usually full 2-300 each room EVERYDAY! nowhere near that now. I joined mainly because in my timezone (Australia) there was 150-200 players, now lucky to have 60 and so spread out takes an hour to find anyone.

EVERY player in here needs to take a good hard look at themselves and think about whether their actions and chat are promoting this game or forcing people to leave.  I'm sure the trolls will be out on this post too, but think before you post, I've seen 1 game fail, not because of the games graphics or game play, but simply because no one wanted to join an online community of haters.  Do not let Aces high go the same way, the only way it will survive is with NEW players joining, they only way that can happen is if they are welcomed, not berated or ridiculed.

People leave on their own accord. No amount of trash talk will keep people away if they really want to be here. Every online community and I mean every single one has people who berate others.

I think these kinds of posts are funny. What happens is people fly timidly and protect their stats for a month and the tour ends. No one notices their "uber" stats so they come here and post to get their name in lights. Which they get because people post in their thread.

Zoney,

I sometimes wonder if the guys that knock your flying style just lack the discipline and SA to be successful?  Anyone can tape the trigger down and dive into a furball gyrating until dead.  It takes good SA and discipline to be able to fly a tour with a high k/d.

109K  35.50/1

Impressive ratios Zoney   :rock

I hope I'm one that will wreck them next tour.  :D

Seriously, ignore anyone who tells you how to fly or play.

Oh anyone can attempt for sure, but the results would still be quite limited for the majority of players ;)

Snail, not really. I know "players" with amazingly high K/D (10+), yet when it came to 1v1, they "tryed" to run to their CV ack in a zeek from a just upped Lala or in a ki84 from a Dora. No kidding!! If this says something.

That you know someone who can do this doesn't mean "anybody" can. I have seen somene killing late war planes left and right in a C202... does that mean anybody can do that too?

The skill level of the average player is often vastly overrated in such discussions. The majority of players in any give tour would be hard pressed to get 10+ K/D in anything, no matter how hard they try (=how 'cautious' they fly).
Their aim isn't up to par, they can't identify the opportunities to rack up easy kills on the map, their SA sucks so they will get picked at some point, they crash next to the runway while vulching (heck, even I do that), and so on.

While I'm not claiming somone with a k/d that high is automatically among the 'top pilots' (however subjective that is), it still takes skills not possesed by the aforementioned "anyone". The average player can be glad to get a kill every few sorties and sometimes even getting home.

IMO the only thing that matters is if you are having fun.

Clearly that's not true as evidenced by your "look at me" thread.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

Gotcha!   :salute

True, only a very few "players" are biased this assimetrically between the ACM and SA.
Just the funny memories came back about that zeek , stirring the stick despairingly against a single lala he couldnt vulch  :)

That's hitting the point quite well. But that goes both ways. There are players that have very much above average ACM skills, which are often shown in the DA, yet their MA 'performance' ain't that great at all, because their tactical as well as their battle SA plain sucks.
Of course, they often claim "I just don't care"... excuses and delusions can be found on both sides of the scale ;)

Ooops.... did I forget to fly last month?

Great work Zoney!

EDIT: because you asked:   22:1 in P-51D   9:0 in Ta152

And because you dont want to know. . . for the year its 63.5:1 in the Ta152 and 82.11 in the pony (not including December). Im sure someone has done better in combat that isnt the same combat you or I have been in. . . or they would be dead more. Right?  :D
