Ability to leave GV/Aeroplane and re-enter.
« on: December 05, 2012, 12:25:01 PM »
I wish we could leave our GV/Aeroplane and walk/run around on foot, then go back to said GV/Aeroplane and re-enter it.

This would be useful, for example, when hiding in a Barn in an M3, walk to the barn door and out a little, look around, then decide whether to keep hiding or get back in the M3 and head to the destination. :uhoh

Pilots/tankers were able to do this in RL, and there would be occasional uses for this in Aces High and it would be fun, on occasion. :aok

 :)

turn off engine and listen...no need to peek.
They call it "common sense", then why is it so uncommon?

This is actually a good idea.

However, I suggest that the "on foot" crew member should be visible as troops, and if the crew member is killed while out of the GV, then the GV should be considered destroyed.  Otherwise, people would always exit the vehicle whenever it was stationary, would use their "on foot" crew member as a type of reconnaisance drone, and we would end up with the screening effect of terrain mostly nullified.

nice idea!

What if a squaddie lands a bomber nearby would you be able to jump on board and assume a gunner position?

Or a GV etc.

I'd totally wait for someone to leave their vehicle and I'd steal it! I'd drive circles around them first and just drive away!  :lol :lol :lol

If a "joined" player could also leave and walk around it would answer the artillery spotter question.

Note. I don't think troops/ chutes/ drunks should be icon'nd anyway..........

Not sure about entering another plane....... IMO the only successfull landing should be in the ride of origin. Else it's a bale.
