Old Soldiers just fade away.....
« on: December 11, 2012, 10:36:53 AM »
Hello Mates

Most of you won't remember me, or have known me.  I have been in AH since beta days.  I am a retired business man and Army aviator.  I have been flying Flight Sim since it's inception and found on-line flying when I retired at 60 in 1966 with Warbirds.  Had some great years there and came over here when Hitech was getting this up.

I flew in on-line sims just like real life.  Did everything possible not to get killed.  So, no super high furball scores, etc.  AH has been great.  In my later years really enjoyed Naval action. anti aircraft and low level bombing in my trusty A20.

Many thanks to you all for making these late years in my life a little more pleasant.

So, this old soldier will just fade away.....

Cheers to you all.

Over and Out

Age doesn't matter in this game. At least not if you are old enough to understand it.  :salute

I disagree that you can really fade away. Although the Humans that we are will someday cease to be we will live on in what we have brought to this life. In AH I'm sure you have brought enjoyment to others in a skirmish or two. In life we live on through our deeds. You probably did more for the cause of freedom I will ever be able to.

Thanks for being part of this community so I could get a small glimpse of what it may be like to confront a deadly enemy in the sky.

Warbirds started 1996

Warbirds started 1996.

Was there from 1997, and enjoyed beeing there, I was a trainer there from 2000 until a year ago.

Specially enjoyed flying with a guy over there named "perc", he was 82 years old then, some 15 years ago.
