Texas also lost Demptser to my RedSox for a 2yr deal too.

After his performance at the end of last year I don't find myself disappointed at all to see him go. Don't know what the front office is doing but we've lost Young, Napoli, Hamilton, and Dempster, and possibly more that I haven't heard of yet. I don't like where things are going right now with this team.

And Boston will still be looking up at the Yankees.   :neener:

Red Sox couldnt move up with Gonzalez, Crawford and the rest of that roster last year cant hope for much.  That roster was more loaded than the Yankees on paper and they couldnt perform.  Yes the injuries were there but the Yankees also had a ton of injuries so not taking that as an excuse.

Dont like where the Yankees are going though with this year, they will never be able to get rid of ARod and while he had the average, he just isnt obtaining that high slugging percentage.  Need to get younger across the board and while it was probably an off year the team as a whole needs to hit better.  Tex was a joke last year along with Granderson, Swisher, and the rest except for Jeter.  While Swisher wont be back, thankfully, there is also rumors that Granderson will be traded.  The Yankees need to keep Soriano as Mo will only be around for another year.  Keep a closer that is a proven closer.

Got to love how LA has 2 of the highest payrolls now between the Dodgers and the Angels.  Yankees arent at the top anymore.

Yankees got Youkilis, and Ichiro signed for less money to stay in NY. Boston's problem last year was Valentine (IMO)

I cant wait till spring and baseball starts up.

Yea I dont like the Youkilis signing.  Washed up and while there isnt any real option considering ARod isnt back until June and Chavez is gone, Id rather see the farm system used as of right now.

Jon Daniels is a putz.  Lets recap Texas' winter:

1.  Dempster - Gone
2.  Napoli - Gone
3.  Michael Young - Gone
4.  Hamilton - Gone

Couple of B-listers and a catcher.  More than likely, we'll end up getting AJ Perzinski and a pitcher TBNL.  Nice.

As a baseball guy, here's my prediction for the 2013 Rangers.  Small ball, National League style.

1.  Kinsler - Speed
2.  Andrus - Speed
3.  Gentry - High Speed
4.  Beltre - Power
5.  Cruz - Power
6.  Profar - High Speed
7.  Murphy - Speed, Some power
8.  Moreland - Power
9.  Soto - A giant stick with a turd on it.

Bunt, steal, steal, bunt, Boom, Boomstick, double, boom, ground into double play or punch-out

<-- Thinks the Phillies should trade for Mark Trumbo. :D

What they might look like next year.

1. Rollins
2. Young
3. Utley
4. Howard
5. Ruiz
6. Revere
7. Brown/Mayberry
8. Ruf/Nix

Such a lack of power in this lineup. :(

Switch Young and revere...left handed cleanup covered by a right handed hitter-for-average and young doesn't have the speed to hit 2-hole anymore

Charlie Manuel is most likely going to put Revere down in the lineup. I 100% agree with you though, they should be switched.

I'm going to cry if he doesn't come to his senses and take Rollins out of the lead off spot.  :cry

He's a faithful guy that's for sure.

I hated to see Josh go, but it was a wise move. He's not worth $125M. Now he's in LA where there's absolutely no temptation to fall off the wagon and his pockets are full of cash. Josh is 1 meltdown away from being a footnote in baseball and a very interesting ESPN 30 for 30.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
