Should We Start Over?

yup. the facility perk lottery is over,,, and we all lost. I remember bombing the training facility in the old tours, and coming back with up to and over 100 perk points. Did it just today and got 8. Oh well, as long as the cost of perk bombers is reasonable ( and directly proportional to the rate at which they can be obtained.) i dont mind only getting a half dozen or so perkies per sortie.

Question.... Is it right for the guys that used this to build up high perk points to have an advantage over the majority that fought hard for theres and don't have half as many?

I personally think if they are using this tactic they might not be good enough to keep a perk ride anyway.. What do ya think?

I did about 3 or 4 raids on the Grunt Training Facility to accumulate around 30 perk points per run. I have well over 1000 perk points, less than 1/4 of it came from attacking grunt facilities. Half came from simple A2A combat, hell I usually get between 8 and 12 perk points from just shooting down other planes. Using the 190A5 or the La5FN or the P47D-25 is good for the perkies.

I don't think reducing the number of points for attacking an undefended facility will really reduce anyone's ability to achieve enough points to buy themselves a perk ride. If the only way they can get them is through a few sorties to an undefended grunt facility in a jabo, then they, as Thunder already stated, won't be able to hold onto their perk plane for more than a single sortie.

Afterall, perk planes don't offer that much of a cushion space between their counterparts to allow a dweeb to kill an ace without losing their perk ride.

Fly them less preferred rides and your perk points sky rocket. That's the whole point behind the system anyway.

I don't want to lose my 220 hard earned Fighter Perk Points.  I'm also not going to spend any of them until 1.07, and then only if the Spitfire MkXIV or A7M2 are added.  If the perk planes cost anywhere near the oft mentioned 500 points, it'll take me 6 months to get one anyway.  Please don't set me back 2 months.

I say let the dweebs have their perk splurge.  It'll run its course quick enough and then they'll be out of perks.

I think they are testing and fine tuning the perk system prior to us getting 1.06 very soon.

I would think it would be unrealistic to let folks keep what they have but to cold and harsh to start us all over from square one. I'd be willing to bet they give us all set number of perks to do with as we see fit. Perhaps enough for two or three perk rides.

I started flying fighters right after the perk point gravy raids for fighters was removed, i now have just over 110 perk points and have busted my bellybutton for every single 1.  It sickens me to think that person taking 2 flights that any 4 year old could pull off and getting more points than I have slaved away and earned in a week.  My best run is 8 points (flying P-38 a always) and i felt i was in the grace of god to get that much for 1 measly sortie that only lasted 45 min and shooting donw 5 fighters and landing to boot) now i find that strafing some barraks yealded over 10 times that and could be done in 10 min and by a totally incompenent pilot with no skill...well that just turns my stomach.

Not sure I agree. If the objective of awarding points now is simply to gauge how fast pilots accumulate the points so awards can be determined than it makes sense to start over.

I do agree that it's unrealistic to let players keep the massive scores if the perk points awarded in later versions are significantly less.

AFAIK, the award system is yet to be determined.

I think it would make sense to wipe the slate clean, but to start everybody with a reasonable number of perks.  Enough so that everybody can take a spin in each perk ride in the MA might do it.

I never "gamed" the perk farming thing (other than hunting perk farmers with Verm, <S>!), and I have no idea how many perk points I have, but it can't be many.  I have no objection to starting over so long as I am given some to start with so I can play with the new perkies a couple of times.

Still, if it's left as is, a bunch of guys with a pile of farmed perk points won't bother me too much.  It'll just mean more "uber" birds for me to shoot down in my trusty Jug.

Yeah Lephturn that was fun   Hunting the "perk point farmers" and watching them squirm and moan.

Remember later that day when I took down the closest Vehicle base in a Ju88, and then went and chased down a pair of Chog, who ran away from me and I only had a single engine and a 7.92mm MG, LOL!!! Talk about funny.

I'm glad they closed that loophole though.

I'd be a little ticked if the perk slate were wiped clean. With the exception of one buff raid on the grunt training before I even knew about the "loophole" I have fought hard for every point I have earned.  I now have about 850-330-200, and alot of times I took "inferior" rides so that I would have a higher multiplier.  AFAIK, that's the way it was supposed to work.  If there are some obvious "outliers" who have 10000 points from wholesale grunt slaughter, fine, knock 'em down a bit. Set a cap of 1000 or 2000 points or something for the 1.06 release.  But please don't punish those of us who played by the rules by wiping what most of us have earned honestly.
Regards,
BB

I haven't even looked at my perk points since  the 1st week 1.05 was out...don't care since I get to fly all the perk planes once they are released, in the SEA during historical events.

I have about 600 perk points and would hate to lose them but I think the only fair way to start the perk system is to wipe the slate clean.

We've had to many people get points by exploiting bugs in the system so instead of setting high levels to get perk AC(if they are going to be high)just start everything over.

Perhaps 1 week to use up all your perk points (when perks arrive) then wipe it clean.

Or maybe better yet, wipe the slate clean and all perk rides are free for a week.

I say start fresh when 1.06 is out.

It's the only fair way to do it.

eskimo... you have hit on more than u think.  The only fair way to have perk planes in an otherwise balanced arena it to make em only available for a few days.   Those who didn't want to fly in em or against em could simply take a pass on those days.  Those who did could fly against like minded (the word escapes me)... There could be no animosity since no one was being forced or punished.

What kind of a jerk would fly a perk plane against the other planes in the MA?   How did they "earn" that right anyway?   You "earned" the right to have an unfair advantage?
