Dear Oppressed Amerikan TV Watchers
« on: December 16, 2012, 04:02:49 AM »
It has come to my attention that many of you are missing out yet again on some real quality TV viewing. That is to say a british sci-fi/comedy best described as a cross of heroes meets the young ones with a touch of monty python - that has yet to be americanized and watered down for your viewing  :devil

May I present to you Misfits:

Basically its about a bunch of kids who get superpowers during a strange electrical storm. But these superpowers aren't your off the shelf hollywood stuff.

No we're talking things like:
 - lactokenetic powers over milk  (fair more dangerous than you might think)
 - the ability to shapeshift between the male and female version of yourself (some interesting issues around getting oneself pregnant while alternately ... err pleasuring oneselfs versions)
 - the ability to swap genitalia
 - seeing the world as video game
 - turning people bald
 - ability to turn yourself young (for short periods of time)
 - time travel (hitler getting a liverpool kiss is hilarious)
 - superpower std that makes genitalia fall off
 - resurrection power (but anything you bring back is a 'zombie')

Scenes like the 'love scene' with the blind girl, gladwrap, rubber band and telepathic seeing eye dog are some of the highlights of the series :D  (one for FiLTH)

Anyhoo, thus ends this public service announcement for americans deprived of real tv :D

Great show, watched Seasons 1-3 as soon as they were updated on Hulu. Having a very hard time getting myself to watch season 4 since it seems Curtis is the only character still there from the original season.

Nathan was easily the best character, and they get rid of him almost right away...
