Most Ever on Line
« on: December 25, 2012, 11:02:13 AM »
Just curious. At the bottom of the Board, it shows that the most on today was 121. The most ever was April 02, 2008 at 09:09:15pm. Does anyone remember what the occasion was for that many on the Boards?

April 2008? I recall this one:

  :D

On a serious note, I don't recall any specific occurence during that time. No major MA server breakdown, no update on that day (though AH going through several patches at that time), no major controversy I know of. The new BBS system wa salready in use for about a month.
Of course, roughtly around that time we had the peak of AH population IIRC. And political discussions where still officially allowed in the OClub  :noid

Was that the update that introduced the Sherman Firefly and the monotone terrain?

That was in April 2007. The March 2008 update gave us the P-39, SdKfz and the Wirbelwind.

Stop looking internally for a reason, no such patches have occured around that time that could cause 'the dip'.

HT said himself, that it was the array of credit card rejections that started the lessening of players and 2008, around spring time, was when the housing bubble started falling apart.

This thread is not about the number of AH players, it's just about if there was any particular reason we had most online on the BBS on this particular day.

Individually, the OP, maybe; but collectively you can already see people workin' that crank.

I love when someone bring in his own "agenda" especially after posting in one of his own threads not to get off topic, or start their own thread for their own idea.

The thread was about when the most people were on, and other are suggesting major events that happened in the past that may have caused it. I don't see any people "workin' the crank" other than "MR I know better and have the best idea's" himself.

If you don't want to play the detective game of "Why did the BBS spike that day?" stay out of the thread.

Personally, I have always wondered what got so many people on that day as well. I have also spent a lot of time trying to figure out the "why" as well.

Easy one to answer,

Everyone in the game logged into the forums to see why the heck JG11 was landing kills in Spits, Mustangs, LA's....etc...the night before.

Was a natural reaction to our 'Fools Night Out' party.

 :D

Seriously...I have no clue...other than...someday has to reflect the most online...if it wasnt 4/2/08, it would be another.
