I Decided To Take a B-17 Up Today
« on: December 25, 2012, 01:46:23 PM »
So as the story goes, I took a 3 hour long flight over knit/rook land and did a decent milk run. It resulted in 24k+ damage and 4 kills. The best part is how those 4 kills were obtained.

3 of those, other B-17's and a lonely 410.

Here's the link to the film - http://www.mediafire.com/?zqc8y27c9w467za

If any of you have some good bomber vs bomber fights please share with me. I think I could have handled the situation better in this one but if it ever comes up again I want to do a little bit better.

I was slowly overtaking some B17s once in my set of B26s and shot them all down from 1k with the nose guns.

Try B-29 Vs a Box of 29s. I had just lost 2 drones to a very lucky K4... He took one and then shot the rudder and both ailerons off on the other spraying from 800 out...

So I counted the mission as lost a was thinking of heading home. then I spotted the B29 group a bit lower then myself and dived in.

Not exactly a bomber versus a bomber, but I did manage to fly my C47 under a flight of B17's by a hillside, his guns blazing at me..... until his head on collision with said hill.

I landed my three "kills" after we took his base. ;)

I once set up a B-17 bombing mission with everyone spawning from the hanger and most (7-8 formations out of 10-12) crashing on take-off.  Does that count?

I also once scored six kills on an enemy runway dropping my remaining ord from a B-17 in a dive trying to out-dive enemy fighters.  I was killed shortly after getting my six unexpected kills.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

bomb vulching is the best thing ever!

I am a lousy dive bomber, but I had a central 500 lbs strapped on to my Jug D-25 as a whattheheck and spotted a spit spawning on an enemy runway. From 8k alt I release it towards the center of the runway hoping he'll be flying over it when it explodes. I fly over the field, drop a wing to watch and to my surprise the spit indeed continued in a straight line, passed right through the explosion and lit like a tourch.
Oh the joy! :devil

I took a screen shot, framed it and placed it on my desk next to the picture of my kids.
