The official criteria that has been stated repeatedly by the staff has always been:

It must be an operational aircraft (rules out the Do-335, P-80, and other types).
It must have seen combat (sorry, no F8F or F7F).
It must have been deployed in squadron strength (eliminates a LOT of rare variants or types).

Has this changed?

The fact that the only unit equipped with the 162 was STILL IN TRAINING with the type when the war ended suggests to me it fails Point 1 miserably.

Someone posted a quote from Pyro (I think it was Pyro, anyway), stating their requriments. It was posted in that David Wales Do 335 thread. I'll try and find it, but i think all it said was WWII aircraft, and preferably seen combat.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

Found the quote, which was actually by HiTech. Posted by Fullmetalbullet, in EVZ's Do 335 thread.

There is no hard and fast rule. But generally we want planes to have seen service.

It appears I was wrong. No He 162 :(

i have a list of planes i would love to see

The He-162 would be a fun bomber killer
The Do-335 would give a p-51 a run.
Spitfire Mk XVIe  bubble canopy enough said
ME 262 with 50mm

In the MA, with 2X fuel burn the perked He-162 is going to have 15 minutes worth of fuel.  This would relegate it short range interception (much like the 163), and 2x20mms aren't all that devastating.  Further, I don't know how much I like the thought of going in on a box of B-17s in a plywood aircraft.  It won't take too many .50 cal hits to make your 162 (and your perkies) disappear in a cloud of splinters.

The Do-335 was always a favorite of mine.   I know it doesn't meet the HTC criteria of "having been deployed in squadron strength and seen combat", but it was ordered into production in 1944 and had the German aircraft industry not been under constant bombing it would have been.  This would be a much better high altitude bomber interceptor for you - 1 x 30mm Mk.103 (65 rounds) and 2 x 20mm (200 rounds) package gives you more firepower, and you have a much longer range.

As for the Spit XVI, no thanks.   If there was to be a Spit update, I'd rather see the bubble canopy, clipped wing variant of the Spit XIV.

Me-262 with 50mm?  Why take the variant that they rejected?  Instead I would suggest the Me-262 with the 24xR4M rockets package.   This might be a problem though - the rocket package is pretty devastating to a formation of buffs and might actually unbalance the game.

There is one confirmed kill by the 162 against a spitfire.
The numbers built is a little scetchy but as many as 300 were built, thats more than the TA-152 we have

Not really a contribution to the thread but...

I had no idea the Do-335 was such a big plane  :O
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

There was a quote from one of the HTC gang floating around. Their only requirements are that it be a WWII era wish, and preferably that it saw combat.

IIRC, it had a few unconfirmed kills. Good enough for me.

I dont have the message from HiTech anymore. but he told me that there is no standing criteria for aircraft inclussion, but he would prefer it to have been in service. I,E dosnt really have to have seen combat just be brought into service during the war. that opens up the 162, and the F7F tiger cat. idk about the F8F bearcat and when it was in service. but that opens up a long list of aircraft.

The Arow(Do-335) was only a prototype when the war ended and until more info is gathered about its rumours about it being used its still considered a prototype.

He-162 meets the criteria to be added in aces high, even if its combat career was limited.

Old argument is whether it was in combat operational status or not, frankly it was - Germany lost the war and fuel was running low, they did however have an entire squadron ready to fly them.

Same argument about the Meteor, while it never flew front line missions, it still was Operational and in combat - simply wasn't jumping dozens of me-262s as everyone hopes for.

Both should be added, regardless. However for scenario purposes, you will likely never see either unless the last day of the war type scenario.
