The 162 never saw combat, even though it was used in operations

The dodo bird doesn't have enough numbers much less much use

162 seen combat, in very limited actions - squadron strength was available the fuel however wasn't. Dodo bird simply was still in prototype stage when the war ended.

Honestly I wouldn't mind the 162, being its range is terrible as an La7 - being it will be perked not much as a Me-262, but pretty high up there.

He 162 was in operational service and saw combat. Typically fulfills all the criteria set  by AH higher council  :D to include in the game. Period.

The 162 was never officially operational. As far as I can find the only group to see combat in the 162 was still in training when these encounters occurred, and the war ended before they were actually declared operational. The only reason they saw combat at all was because the training fields they were using were getting bombed at the time. Even then, there was only a two-week period between the first report of a 162 in combat and the German surrender, and these engagements were sporadic and individual affairs.

There's absolutely no need for the He-162 in the game, and doesn't actually fit the criteria for addition.

There was a quote from one of the HTC gang floating around. Their only requirements are that it be a WWII era wish, and preferably that it saw combat.

IIRC, it had a few unconfirmed kills. Good enough for me.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

While I think the He162 meets the minimum criteria, it should be way, way down the list.

I can certainly think of another Heinkel aircraft I'd like to see added before it.

Now repeat after me

Everything i see is an illusion.

He-162 never saw action

He-162 was never operational

He-162 never actually flew

He-162 never existed

He-162 is totally fictional

Now go to sleep.

The official criteria that has been stated repeatedly by the staff has always been:

It must be an operational aircraft (rules out the Do-335, P-80, and other types).
It must have seen combat (sorry, no F8F or F7F).
It must have been deployed in squadron strength (eliminates a LOT of rare variants or types).

Has this changed?

The fact that the only unit equipped with the 162 was STILL IN TRAINING with the type when the war ended suggests to me it fails Point 1 miserably.

From http://www.airvectors.net/avhe162.html#m3

II Gruppe of JG-1 had moved to the Heinkel airfield at Marienhe to begin trading their FW-190s for He-162s.

* The He-162 finally began to see combat in mid-April. On 19 April, the pilot of a British Royal Air Force (RAF) fighter who had been captured by the Germans informed his interrogators that he had been shot down by a jet fighter whose description was clearly that of a He-162. The Heinkel and its pilot were lost as well, shot down by an RAF Tempest fighter while returning to base. On 20 April, a Luftwaffe pilot successfully ejected from a He-162, though the reason for the hasty exit from his aircraft was not recorded. One possibility is that he simply ran out of fuel; the He-162's half-hour endurance was simply not enough, and at least two of JG-1's pilots were killed making "dead-stick" landings after exhausting their fuel.

the 162 has air combat kills (like 1-4) unlike the meteor....(which only has unmanned v1 kills). personally i would rather have 162 over meteor just for that reason, HOWEVER i dont want either EVER in AH.

Only because the Storch pilot managed to get it on the ground before the Meteors came around and destroyed his Fi156.

The Meteor is clearly above the He162 in terms of numbers, length of WWII service and activity in WWII.  Being above the He162 in priority is like bragging that your state's education system ranks above Mississippi's education system.
