Sea Hurricane Motor cuts out?
« on: January 06, 2013, 06:47:50 AM »
Last night off a CV, I tried the Sea Hurricane.  The motor or the motor sound cuts off on occasions.  Is the engine cut off a historical accurate modeling or a bug?  I skimmed an article on the plane but did not see reference to a motor problem but it was a quick scan. Happened maybe three times if I remember right for a duration of a couple of seconds. Prop seemed to slow down as well but it was in a furbal so I cant be sure of that.

The motor or sound cutout did not happen on any other plane that I used last night including the 51 , la7 and P47M.

Great game by the way.

Isn't it a Mk1? If so, it has no fuel injection and pushing negative G's starves the engine of fuel.
My Current Rig:
GigaByte GA-X99-UD4 Mobo w/ 16Gb RAM
Intel i7 5820k, Win7 64-bit
NVidia GTX 970 4Gb ACX 2.0

There you go.  I bet that is the answer.  Just good modeling.

Hurricanes didn't ever get fuel injection they essentially got a pumper carb with a valve to lock the carb float so the fuel doesn't drain out of the carb when inverted.
