I think he bolted Tennessee because there was a threat of a NCAA investigation into the Vol's recruiting practices while he was coach.

ack-ack

Probably so.

At any rate, I think Kiffin is a terrible coach, and I know terrible coaches.  As a Nebraska fan, I lived through the Bill Callahan era.  It took me 2 years to stop curling up in the fetal position during games, but I still wake up in the middle of the night sobbing sometimes.  My wife, God bless her, has taken to keeping two calendars on her side of the bed - one turned to the current date, and the other to November 24, 2007.  Seeing this helps, but the pain is still very vivid.   :cry

like that doesn't happen at Alabama and other schools. what do you think happens when they over recruit, a incoming kid isn't getting that scholarship or an upper class men is losing theirs.

Kiffin's father (Monte) quit as the defensive coordinator a couple days ago......probably more age related, as you can only coach for so long.
Or you can go back to the NFL.

OH I know it happens in the SEC, This is exactly the reason all conferences need sigining rules like the Big 10(14) if you sign a kid you have to honor the scholie unless he violates the law/rules.

To be honest...an argument in a locker room after a loss isnt uncommon for any school/program from all levels of play.  This is just being broadcasted because it is USC and everything that is going on there to fuel the fire.

You'd be surprised.

It isnt uncommon for offense to fight defense over a loss etc.  Had a couple of those during my college days and I only graduated last year.  May be 5-6 guys arguing/fighting and another 10 guys to help break it up, 2 guys per individual guy.  Sure you can imagine an enraged individual get that random amount of strength out of nowhere.

Wrong answer there...you have just as much right to a one year athletic scholarship as an incoming freshman as a rising upperclassman. I played college football and remember my coaches telling me point blank; "That kid there is going to take your scholarship, that is why we signed him last February." The end result was that kid and a few others like him went home to mommy because they couldn't put out when it was needed in practice and the games.

Scholarships are EARNED and I honestly don't believe a school has to do anything more than give you the opportunity to keep it in your name. If they decide to give it to someone else then so be it; that is just the way the game is played and has been played since they started offering athletes the chance to attend school for free.

Times be a changing while its not a LAW many schools are sigining Multi year scholies.

On the flips side there is was to get around it but I think its a step in the right direction

Its an oversigning thing, when kids arent even given the chance and dropped before spring practice is the cause.
