Connection stalling out
« on: January 17, 2013, 10:09:15 AM »
Over the last couple of months something strange has been happening to my connection.  The game starts fine, then when I connect to the duelling arena's it's fine, until it stall for about 30 seconds on the load screen with blue borders, when the music stops.  It then puts me in the control tower, with the lost connection dialogue box, click ok and it drops me out the game.  It takes several attemps to connect before it finally sticks.  I don't seem to have had issues connecting to any other arena, well, not that I have noticed, and off-line it all loads fine.  Also issues with alt-tab crashing out nine out of ten times.  Not sure if anyone has any ideas that may help.

Tracert attached and dxdiag attached.

And I've only managed to get on the once to the DA today... before losing connection a few minutes later!   :bhead

Perhaps it is schools, weather etc...

Have you tried running a Ping Plot for a few minutes to see if there is substantial packet loss on the connection?

Try reducing the graphic settings, in the game, to help reduce the resource usage and see if it helps.

As Skuzzy says reduce your video setting because that vid card is not really made for gaming. I was planning on getting 2 of these  because of the price but the manufacture told me they were not gaming specific cards.

I'll give it a try - as I said, it appears to be just the DA and on a random basis.
