Player list of who changed course of CV waypoints
« on: January 20, 2013, 07:43:16 AM »
Tired of CVs getting into some what range of feilds and by surprising coincedence (with no guns shooting or any uppers) have it go down by some miracle that some PT spawned near it or NOE bombed or driven straight into the shore battery range.

This is typical and most common during the early morning hours and very typical of certain squads. I dont know if the reasoning is to pad their score or just eliminate the threat of having it near their base but its getting really stupid and no different than using shades to get easy kills.

Im asking to somehow have a list when changing CV courses to see who set them (*say last 4-5 waypoints). so if they are using shades to set the cvs on a death mission, we can deduce and conduct our own witch hunts.

I think this is a case of poor cv driving being mistaken for sabotage.  The buffer is already full enough without adding folks admonishing the last cv driver 'cause he didn't know what he was doing or he went to grab Oreo's and milk just before the bombers hit the dar circle.  What gets me is 1/2 a dozen guys screaming on range to turn an uncommanded CV instead of just clicking the mouse a couple times and getting it done.

Words of wisdom.

AH is full of people resorting to the knee-jerk "SPY! SHADE! CHEAT!" cry everytime something goes wrong or simply just doesn't go the way THEY want it.

Last week: "Lancs just sunk our CV. Nice shade work, he never could have known the CV was there, but went directly to it". Full agreemant by many on country channel.
Turned out that the CV was offshore of a remote airbase, but had shelled the town for a long time down to white flag status. But when I mentioned this, the reply was "But how could they ever notice? It wasn't even flashing!" The population still agreed on that the enemy could only have noticed this by using spies.

Or even more on topic:
CV battle. Several players on board, me in 8". We manage to sink the enemy CV and CA. As it happens, we are now quite close to the remant of the enemy fleet and going on a collision course. Bad idea, so I grab control and turn the CV away.
And what happened then?
Hell broke lose on range and country text "SPY!" "Traitor!" "Shade!". Draggon was freaking out and accusing me of all things... and the best of all, a big number of players agreed with him because they all knew that "this is how high ranked players play". That I was merely trying to keep CV alive by keeping it away from enemy 5" guns and PT boats for the next 10 minutes didn't matter at all.
Frustrated I gave up command. Of course they steered it back and CV was sunk by destroyer fire at 5k. Guess who was made responsible for that?

Not this morning.
Trust me, Im the last person to scream spy or game sabotage. Today was just obviously blatent shinanigens time after time with the same squad members consistently tracking CVs out of the middle of nowhere. One instance of someone placing the courses on a straight course to incoming high buffs then logging off so noone can take command. Another this same morning (same squad members) sank one with JUs using torps when the CV was positioned facing some high mountains to the base which means they had to completly go around the base or if they did come from another base, they had to drive it 2 sectors (And why would they be carrying torps for any other reason?)

Ive been here long enough to know what to expect. This morning was just plain silly.

Snail, it absolutely is done. How many times have you been online when out in the middle of nowhere comes a Lanc formation that comes right down the CV waypoint line? When we had Trinity map it would happen three, four, and five times a day. You can chuckle about it, but it absolutely does happen and it is not hard to see how even one person acting alone can pull off sinking a carrier. To do it as many times as has happened in the past took more than a single person, obviously. They are also the same people I was complaining about that would bail at the first sign of a fighter coming to kill them. And the reason they act that way is also obvious.

. . .then logging off so noone can take command.

It does not work like that. I believe the invisible cmmander thing is a bug brought on by someone taking command before you log on. It has been reported many times in the past.

It cant. But Im sure driving it to a PT spawn or torping it does add some brownie points. Like I said, This is most common in the wee hours and though I could care less, today it was just obvious to what was going on. To me...no different than shade killing.

If you think somebody is doing something wrong just report it to HTC. There is no need for a feature to facilitate personal abuse. We have more than enough as it is.
