country status

This kind of always perplexed me; when checking the "country status" on the clipboard map, it only shows field ownership of your own country.  How do you know what the other countries have, in terms of % of enemy fields owned?  Where is it listed for the other countries and if not, how come?

I was never very good at math.  How do you know the number of fields they captured?  Looking at the map can give you a rough guess, but do you have the exact map starting positions memorized?

Yes. Though if you have played this game for some time, you are probably knowing them anyway without having to actively 'memorize' them, especially as on most map they are pretty much obvious by the terrain and geometry. I never had to 'learn' them (I always hated that and never did it, not even in school), I just know it from experience.

yes but doesn't show which country was the owner, which is what matters for the "war"

i.e. right now rooks own 73 fields.. doesn't tell us how many are rook, knight or bish..  you have to look at the map, know who owns which originally, and do the math just like lusche said..
