Well, just so you know: I went all the way to Bovington, England from Florida to record all the tanks I could in one event. Then Germany where I taped and recorded even more. France. US airshows. The problem I have with sharing sounds is because I know there are a lot more people in the world that think just like you do. Also, if I did go to the trouble of 'creating' a sound, which I have in several instances, it's no different than if I recorded it and then processed it to work in a game. It's mine and not yours. Furthermore, even if I do not tell you that I have a copyright on the file, it is still mine and not yours. In fact, you are not even working on the sounds, which makes it worse by some measure. If I, or any of the sound guys said in their zips "do not make derivative works without express written permission," then you cannot change them in any way, either.
Another reason I stopped just giving sounds away, about seven years ago, was because I gave a sound to one person and expressly told him not to share it with anyone. Well, the bonehead went and gave it away to one of the worst offenders.
Well, that's okay. I will just stop giving things to anyone and just use them in my movies. Should have done that to begin with.
