:lol

Was wondering where you were.   :lol  Someday...I'll find the right 68-69 Charger to do.  The bird is going to be hot though...for a bird.  :)

Stampf.....I hope you have luck finding a 68-69 Charger.  The Dukes of hazrds car show trashed hundreds of them.  I'm not kidding either.
When the couldn't find 68 parts...they went to 69s and so on.  68 Charger by far is the most beautiful to me.  Tail lights the key and
side running (round) lights.  A very good friend of mine owns at 68 Charger that they ordred and purchased in 1968.  Don worked for Dodge
at the Twinsburg stamping plant here in Ohio.  He ordred the basic Charger with a 383 he wanted a 4 speed in it (an 883). Dodge told him
that the 4 speeds only came in the R/Ts. Finally after some haggeling since he worked for Dodge he got to order the 4 speed.
Don and Ginger still have it to this day.  It's a gorgeous silver with a black vinyl top and all original.  I'll get some pics this summer when
I see Dave ( Hemi Cuda  70) and Don and Gingers Charger.  BTW....Don and Gingers 4 speed Charger is only one of six.

I'm gonna be honest here, I'm kind of appalled by the aesthetic design of some cars back in the day. Of course I'm also appalled by aesthetic design on a lot of modern cars as well.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder :)
I was very much into performance
..however if the car looked decent I would look further into what it's capabilities were :)

A lot of the muscle cars of the era I did not think very much of
.. most of the AMC products were the SUCK for looks..
..their one major exception was the Javelin AMX ..that car was sexy from end-to-end.

Didn't much care for Chevelle past '65 .. they got sooo HUGE!
May as well have been Impala's .. big boats.

There were some great lookin big boats tho
.. the '68-'70 Road-Runner, GTX, Charger
..they looked good in any color from any angle.

They did not feel 'big' with a 440 yankin 'em around.
..and the Hemi .. -shakes head- . . just the sound they made

..a deep in your gut rumble that shook the asphalt you stood on.
A real howl as it wound up to 7k shift
..pure visceral experience as you were flattened in the seat and it just ate the road ahead.

Ya . .some hooked me bad :)

The snow? Didn't you read your owners handbook? You're not supposed to get a Jaguar wet.

Maybe I read the wrong book, mine was about a slippery wet happy cat.

Sweet.

Ja, the thing with me and Chargers is an old, long story.  I've had my share of nice ones, the 71 being just the latest in a long line.  I am spoiled or just too picky...and poor I quess...to find/restore/purchase/afford...lol...the one I want.  Back in my twenties I went out to Calif, with my band to make it big and be a rock star...and while out there I found a nice 70 roadrunner 440 4 speed air grabber.  Ever since that car, any Mopar I have done that is automatic...has left me feeling...well...short sticked...if you know what I mean.  The biggest reason I purchased the blackbird was the factory manual 3 speed.  The only Charger that's gonna hold my interest now, enough to purchase or rebuild...would be an original RT or Hemi 4 speed.  So...you know the odds of that happening are slim.  Over the years, I have had nice examples of all the big four...Cudas, Challengers, Chargers and RR's... would love to have some of them back today...but...I also always had a soft spot for the 60's GTO's and then the firebirds.

We'll see.  Knowing me...I'll sell the firebird after a season of driving it...and be on to the next project.  Half the fun for me is bringing em back to life.

EDIT:  And the guy who owns this now...is glad I enjoy bringing them back.

Nomnoms.
Apparantly it's 'stock' ..not a resto-rod or hack job.
I'd drive it on cruise days an such ..for a *fact* :)

Would have to have Cragar S/S or Weldwheels on it tho with more rubber in back.

Pretty sure that red car above is what I think of when I hear the word "firebird".
