They do not hire RN's without a degree as far as I know.
(several years as an LPN) .. for that particular field it is degree first just to begin to get experience.
I am not sure about Law Enforcement
.. pretty sure they do not hire someone without any formal education
.. places I actually applied for had some kind of academy you had to go through first, just to get experience.
So I disagree .. experience is not everything in a LOT of careers
.. it won't even get you in the door in far too many places unless you have some formal education in that field to start with.
Of course, if you know someone who works there ..all bets are off.

RN hiring is BS now. They want nurses that have experience before being hired instead of students coming straight out of school yet there is no way to have these students coming out of school having real world work experience without being hired first. Its very very counter intuitive.
But to be honest an undergraduate degree means nothing anymore. It is like a high school degree now, now you need to earn a Master's degree or greater for work. Unless you are an engineer or some other specific job, you will need to get a Master's for the workforce of the future.
