Mainstream rock and pop is usually a bunch of repetitive horse crap spewed out by these auto-tuned/tone deaf groups/singers. A great example of this would be One Direction (How 5 gay guys walk) or Lil Wayne. Look up a song by either of those "artists" and you'll know what i'm saying.

I would have thought if they were using their freedom of speech in order to protest against the government , they would be emminently more successful if anybody could understand a word they are screaming

Me?  I'm always on the side of the stuff that I like.  I don't give a rat's behind what anyone else thinks.  And it doesn't matter if its Daft Punk or Mars, the Bringer of War.  Good music is good, regardless of what the artist established themselves as before, regardless of when it was made.
