losing elevator and aileron settings
« on: February 08, 2013, 04:51:06 PM »
For the last two days I’ve been having a problem. During flight the settings for my joystick disappear from the map controllers and it stops working. All the buttons work so I can fire weapons, change views, etc. The only control I lose is for the elevators and ailerons. Also when I spawn in a GV with a pental gun it is firing.

I’ve checked in windows control panel and the joystick reads as always and moves fully, recalibrated every time I start the game, online and the practice arena. I’m using a Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog without the target software enabled, just the in game settings.

Check Clipboard->Options->Controls->Map Controllers: Do you have Auto_select_mode ticked? If you have, scroll through the four modes to find out which controller, if any, is mapped for the missing axii. Sometimes the AH updates make minor changes in controller mapping. I noticed that I had Fire_all_guns mapped to my primary mouse button after the last one.

Or disable the auto-mode switch.

Also note, if the USB bus is reset cycling, due to too high of a load on the bus, it could cause the same problem.  What type of stick is it?  How many USB devices are plugged into the computer?  Do you have an externally powered USB hub to try?

Auto_select_mode is checked and 1-3 show the elevator and alieron settings, mode 4 was empty.

Skuzzy I have a Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog and CH rudder pedals. They along with my wireless keyboard are the only usb devices plugged in. I have a powered usb hub that I will reattach.

if the USB bus is reset cycling, due to too high of a load on the bus, it could cause the same problem. Sorry I haven't a clue what this means. :)

I'll try the powered hub and post the results.

Thanks for the ideas and help Gentlemen!
