wow that is really professional, showing up with a cigarette in your mouth.  I wish I could show up to see my customer's with a cigarette in my mouth.

LOL, I thought the same thing, next time I need to interview a PO maybe I'll stroll into the station with an unlit cigar in my mouth and gauge the reaction:)

Professional? He's unprofessional because he had an unlit cigarette in his mouth? Next time he should stick in his ear, this way it's not in his mouth and it's professional. Your posts are just incredible sometimes. By the way, I had NO idea that the "victim" was paying the Peace Officer. He should treat his customers better, sheesh.

The LEO should've handled the situation better than he did.
Agree, but the young twerp was in need of a serious attitude adjustment.  Fortunately, it was a COP who did it versus another punk with an attitude and his "nine".

Who pays the cop's salary if not the public?

He pays taxes too, unless you forgot? The government pays him, not the public.

Well... He pays taxes on the salary he receives from taxes... So in your opinion he's not a public servant, but a state enforcer?

One would probably get a better response if he treated an LEO like a friend and helper or at least with a modicum of respect.

I still think the cop was a little quick on the draw, but I'm certainly not on the side of the punk.

In my dealings with cops they have responded quite nicely to being shown a little courtesy for a change.

Put yourself in the guys shoes. If you had multiple men stomping you and looting your stuff and having waited for 45 minutes to get help, would you feel just happy and dandy? I bet not. The victim had every reason for being upset so he should have been treated as a victim, not as a criminal that didn't obey orders and/or respect the officers. I'm sure this guy has a huge confidence in the government now, after being first beat up by robbers only to get punched in the face and strangled by the cops who didn't make a step towards arresting them. It's like them saying 'see? this is rule of the fittest now crawl punk!'. The next thing he's going to do is get a weapon to 'become fitter' and murder rates jump one notch.

Probably because the people they meet every day are not requiring a humorous comment when they require the police :old:

The Police are not public servants they are the physical representation of law and order :old:
