That's not the worst of it... People even make jokes about nuclear war!!!
Well... Yeah. I guess it's just you "being up tight". Sorry.
Like I said, I understand catharcism, I have served in the Police Service and Military where it is a vital part of coping, I was merely pointing out that there are limits, and the ones I mentioned are way up there. Particularly laughing about amputees on a forum populated by a good percentage of current and ex military and guys whose friends and loved ones have been injured in such ways. Within certain units there is a humour associated with injuries, I was part of a group that delivered half a pair of slippers to a lad who was in hospital minus a foot from a tanking accident, within the confines of a tight knit unit that is completely acceptable behavior with definite benefits. Nevertheless I guarantee you if an outsider had taken the piss out of the guy he would have wound up in the bed next to him. But essentially what you are talking about is not banter to help people deal with something uncomfortable, it is about sick jokes for a cheap laugh, and maybe I am being up tight about it, maybe I just occasionally put myself in the shoes of the parents of the choirboy who has been abused, and realise perhaps it aint that funny or clever?
