Even go so far that manned ack will spawn a player into a gun with "0" rounds, or a percentage less equal to the number of untouched rearm pads standing. If all rearm pads are down, all manned ack is at "0" rounds. Allow these to be all brought up by the first M3 or C47 to drop supplies on the airfeild. Now when you take an airfeild you bring along a second M3 or C47 with field supplies to bring up the rearm pads. Leave auto ack and shore batteries out of this cycle.
Lets look at what it would do for or to both sides.
Defenders and General Operations
1. - A single player could deny "kill string collecters" their rearm ability inside of their effective operation range by hitting 2-4 airfeilds.
2. - GV Ack units and tanks could be denyed their last line of ammo rearm during Ft. Apache style hoard attacks.
3. - A just captured feild with no ord could be hit by a suprise jabo or bomber box to strategicly remove the rearm pads, ord and VH to help GV counter attackers or slow a hoard momentum.
4. - Your feild could be hit by jabo and bombers specificly to take down ord, VH and the rearm pads interfering with your ability to stop GV or carry on an attack against another feild.
5. - Your manned ack could all be rendered useless if my opening suggestion is implimented.
Attackers
1. - Deny GV ack units and tanks their last ammo rearm during a mass assault shortening the time to be shot by defenders.
2. - New score target and strategic target combo. Ord, VH and rearm pads. GV assaults are less dangerous.
3. - A way to infuriate "kill string collectors".
4. - A new target for short range sneekers or long range tanker snipers to gain a few points blowing up something important.
5. - In some cases after a base is just taken that has no ord available. Several sneeky greifers could show up in FW to take out the rearm pads and kill the momentum of the rolling hoard. Or a buff box loitering at alt waiting to make a pass after the inevitable capture. We have all been in at least one mission where the mission leader yells: "Ok guys as soon as that last troop goes in, everyone get down and rearm. We gotta keep this momentum going to reset the map." Momentum is everything in keeping the short attention spans of gamers where you want them focused.
6. - If my opening suggestion is implemented another strategic resource for the attackers to remember to bring along. The key to having manned ack available while your just captured airfeild is vulnerable.
