Bomber tracers

I ran into a set of B17's last night that did considerable damage to me but no one around saw any tracers and they did see me take damage. I was under the impression that this bug was fixed. I didn't get film of the pilot wound or gun damage initially, but I did manage to film my oil being shot out.

I have seen this also.   I heard that if a pilot has tracers turned off, and joins another player's buffs as a gunner, then then tracers are not visible to the enemy.

I've heard that too Pand. However, after reviewing the film, I noticed that this pilot was alone and did not have anyone gunning for him. Unless the person gunning for him will not show up in the film. I'm not sure about that.

what I have noticed is that with tracers off firing one gun doesn't make tracers but firing all guns does, would this explain it?

I just watched the film again a little closer this time. You can clearly hear the rounds hit my plane but cannot hear the rounds being fired from the bomber or see them, even when I'm watching the film from the bomber itself.

If you are gunning in your own bomber and you have tracers off.... just like in a wirble, YOU wont see your own tracers, but the enemy still does.  Even when firing all guns in a buff, you will see tracers from your 'auto gunners' but not from the gun you're firing from (although enemy sees all).

I can verify a lanc last night in the LWMA hadno tracers as I made one HO pass and took a speed hole, followed by a high slash from the rear that got me a second speed hole with no tracers seen.

OlShakey I believe did the no tracers buff trick on me earlier in the week.
