Information HUD in Film Viewer
« on: February 27, 2013, 11:42:33 AM »
LOVE the film viewer, use it all the time; both as a training tool and simply to capture screenshots of great shots, etc.

One thing that I really think would help in the training tool department would be a toggle that brought up an informational HUD with visual indicators of several things.

I know the image below is crude, but bear with me here haha...

So, upper left - a crude representation of the current aileron/rudder inputs... elevator would be nice too, but my Paintshop skills are limited haha...

Upper right, aircraft damage indicator.

Bottom right, alt, speed, G force.

All of these things can be determined elsewhere, but when you're trying to discern someones specific maneuver (or your own failure) - having all of this right up in your face at once would be great!

I like it.  +1.  Pity it couldn't give you the same kind of info on your opponents.

It would probably be easier and far better just to get the instruments to work in the film viewer.

+1 But I only really want it so that they can use that data to move the control surfaces in the film.

I hate how your plane is pulling all these moves without while the A/R/E are all just flat.
I would also love to see control movements of the eny cons. I know we cannot record that data (without huge film files) but from the movement of the plane you could work out a basic approximation of their control movement. This would help people understand how a con was able to get a jump on them.
