Okay so I'll test this later,so you can SEE the views you are setting up to AVI now? Maybe 2 years ago you could set the views so you could see them and save em to AVI, then something changed ( even if you could find a good codex you could not see the view's anymore) like i said i brought it up when it happend but know one there seemed to care much.
I just went in and setup a custom shot, checked the "Stream shot to AVI", pressed the "Play Shot" button, selected the correct CODEC and it recorded that custom camera shot just fine.
The difference when working with custom camera shots is you use the "Film Shots" panel for all the camera setup and recording. If you use the normal "File" option to save the AVI, then you get nothing but the stock camera view.
