But a pint of Dorothy Goodbodies Summer Ale is pretty close to heaven

The OP started the thread about Budweiser.

There are plenty of decent American beers, none of which come from the big brewing companies.

Dorothy Goodbodies sounds good, though.  There are a lot of nuances in beer that are caused by the water used.  Recently, the brewing recipe software has incorporated calculators of water from different parts of the world and tells a brewer the ingredients needed to add to your water to try to mimic the water from other parts of the world, such as Burton upon Trent if I wanted to make an authentic porter

Newcastle Brown sends folk loopy. Two of them and everyone wants a fight, they even include a huge heavy bottle to use as a club.

Coors is OK when it it very hot and you want to drink a lot of beer, all day long, without getting too badly snookered.

The beard is getting awesome-er by the day!  I haven't shaved or cut my hair (the parts that still grow anyhow) in almost four months, but sadly, it has nothing to do with my beer geek-ness.

I have also stopped buying that stinky Irish baccy as it is poo and bites too much, regardless of how gently I pack it or which pipe I use.  I have now switched to some proper English blends from Samuel Gawith and J.F. Germain.
