I never mentioned Budweiser I said American beer. As for Belgian fare Hoegaarden and Leffe are pretty damn good.

But a pint of Dorothy Goodbodies Summer Ale is pretty close to heaven :old:

The OP started the thread about Budweiser.

There are plenty of decent American beers, none of which come from the big brewing companies.

Dorothy Goodbodies sounds good, though.  There are a lot of nuances in beer that are caused by the water used.  Recently, the brewing recipe software has incorporated calculators of water from different parts of the world and tells a brewer the ingredients needed to add to your water to try to mimic the water from other parts of the world, such as Burton upon Trent if I wanted to make an authentic porter  :aok

Newcastle Brown sends folk loopy. Two of them and everyone wants a fight, they even include a huge heavy bottle to use as a club.

Devils brew that is :old:

Any beer you taste needs to meet a fairly high standard, then  :aok

Coors is the big site here, you can smell the hops from miles away, always makes you want a pint when you're on the way to work :frown:

My Brother made Ale in my kitchen.

Took all day to clean it off the walls.

  Something went horribly wrong.   :uhoh

Coors is OK when it it very hot and you want to drink a lot of beer, all day long, without getting too badly snookered.

Making your own ale IS good !!!

The beard is getting awesome-er by the day!  I haven't shaved or cut my hair (the parts that still grow anyhow) in almost four months, but sadly, it has nothing to do with my beer geek-ness.

I have also stopped buying that stinky Irish baccy as it is poo and bites too much, regardless of how gently I pack it or which pipe I use.  I have now switched to some proper English blends from Samuel Gawith and J.F. Germain.   :aok
