fuel burn dot command
« on: March 10, 2013, 07:57:25 AM »
Yes, I think that a dot command to set fuel burning consumption would be great in some planes.
Something like:

.fc b,t,lw, etc.  (b=bottom, t=top, ...)

with some options like:

.fc (lw-rw), b   (lw-rw to automatize lw and rw consumption)

Just an idea to explore better.

I'm just glad we don't have to manually keep flipping the fuel tank selector for balancing. I think the automation provided is generous enough.

I have at times wished I could alter the order of tanks burnt myself and while it would be a unique way to sort of customise your aircraft, I don't think it would make much of a difference. Lots of better things (like fine tuning and improving damage model etc.) there for HTC to spend time on.

While you cannot alter the automated tank selections, you can force it into manual mode and burn whatever tank you want, whenever you want; just remember to switch tanks or go back to auto when a tank runs dry, or your engine will stop.
