How do I cancel my account?
« on: January 26, 2001, 11:53:00 AM »
I wish to cancel and there is no mention of how to do it on the main site. Decided I better start saving up for WWII online. AH isnt bad, but I'm not a flying person, getting whooped every single time is not fun.

Go into the game. Go to Admin. Then delete your account. But before you run I'll tell you something. It took all of the people on this game months to get good enough to shoot people down now and then. Games like this are not for the impatient. It takes REAL skill and many hours of flying to get good at it. It is almost like real flying. Everyone on here went through the same learning curve. I've been playing fight sims for YEARS and I'm learning something new every time I get up it seems like. Each plane has it's idiosyncrasy. Find a plane that suits you or that you really like and keep flying it exclusively until you figure it out. There are lots of people on here that can give you tips on how to fly all these planes. Then when you have the plane figured out you will start learning how to dog fight. It just takes time. That is why you here all of the cracks about "Quake heads" and stuff. They refer to the people that are to impatient to get in here and learn. They just want to shoot things with a BIG gun. There's a lot more to a game like this than that. If you really like WWII planes or just like the sim give it time. Months of time!

PS No I don't have any reason to promote this game other than my enjoyment of games like this.

Father.May.I(hehe, nice callsign),

Have you thought about trying to get some training help from the AH Training Corps? They are a top-notch group, patient as saints. I'm sure they would be willing to help you out as much as they could to increase your confidence and enjoyment of AH.

I hate to see new people leave so quickly. It takes time to get the hang of it. We've all been in your shoes at sometime in the past. If you can get some help, you may decide to stick with it. I hope you do.

Please feel free to drop me a note at sconrad@hfx.eastlink.ca.  I will arange to spend some time in training with you if you like.

A bit of training with myself or one of the other trainers and we can have you kicking butt with a pretty minimal time investment.

Jimdandy: Thanks for your help. I appreciate the skill that goes into being good at this game but unfortunately, I'm impatient. Guess I grew up on getting everything I want now
But I did have some fun while playing, mainly as a PT boat for some reason I dominated in that

I may be back, but really, I'm looking forward to WWII online. If that turns out to be a bust though, I may find my way back somehow,

And another reason I have to cancel: Class rings are coming in next week and I wouldnt have any money left to pay next month's subscription :-)
